I believe "collective work" is closest to the definition of art than any other current phrase. Although I do indulge in the things that make me happy and, in turn (hopefully), make others happy, I do believe in the power of collaborative work with other artists, thinkers, children, humans, on and on.

I take the post-modern stance that anything and nothing can be art, but I also believe that that is not the end to art's purpose.
